Supporting Safer Judo Training for Elk Grove Youth
We’re raising $15,000 to replace worn mats and support safe, high-quality Judo instruction for over 100 local students.
Okami Judo Club provides free Judo instruction to youth and adults in Elk Grove, California. Our program emphasizes discipline, respect, perseverance, and personal growth, values that extend far beyond the dojo.
As our program has grown, it has become increasingly important to upgrade our training surface. While we have taken every reasonable step to maintain a safe training environment, our current flooring consists of general-purpose wrestling mats, which were not designed specifically for the demands of Judo.
Judo-specific mats provide the appropriate balance of shock absorption and stability required for throwing techniques and breakfalls. Upgrading to these mats is an important step toward meeting modern training standards and supporting safe, effective instruction for our students.
We invite parents, alumni, local businesses, and community members to partner with us in this important upgrade. Because our program is offered at no cost to families, community donations are essential to sustaining safe facilities and equipment.
Okami Judo Club is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
